Title: Hot British Boyfriend
Author: Kristy Boyce
Genre: Young Adult Contemporary

Rating: 3/5 stars

After a horrifying public rejection by her crush, Ellie Nichols does what any girl would do: she flees the country. To be more precise, she joins her high school’s study abroad trip to England. While most of her classmates are there to take honors courses and pad their college applications, Ellie is on a quest to rebuild her reputation and self-confidence. And nothing is more of a confidence booster than getting a hot British Boyfriend. When Ellie meets Will, a gorgeous and charming Brit, she vows to avoid making the same mistakes as she did with the last guy she liked. Which is why she strikes up a bargain with Dev, an overachieving classmate who she’s never clicked with, but who does seem to know a lot about the things Will is interested in—if he helps her win over her crush, then she’ll help him win over his. But even as Ellie embarks on a whirlwind romance, one that takes her on adventures to some of England’s most beautiful places, she still needs to figure out if this is actually the answer to all her problems…and whether the perfect boyfriend is actually the perfect boy for her.

My thoughts:
Hot British Boyfriend follows Ellie Nichols after she gets rejected horribly by her school crush at a party. After facing the laughing and finger-pointing from her fellow classmates, she decides to leave on a school trip abroad to get some distance (and maybe find a hot british boyfriend). Enter Will Chapman… but unexpected things are always around the corner 😉

Overall, I did enjoy reading this swoon-worthy romance set in the beautiful city of Northampton, however, there were some parts that made me cringe a little. The main one was how obsessed Ellie was with boys and getting a boyfriend that she abandoned her friends to meet up with Will, a boy who caught her eye.

Ellie is a lovely person and very kind, but she can be very immature and cares way to much about what others think of her. When she arrives in England, the first thing on her mind is to find a boyfriend straight away, even abandoning her friends so she can spend time with Will. She also is so oblivious to most things around her, even when it’s so obvious to everyone else.

I loved reading about Ellie’s time in England. Emberton Manor sounds like such an amazing place to live, I wish I could go there myself. This book gives great travel vibes and I can’t wait to get back to England now! Hot British Boyfriend is a fun, cute contemporary that I think would be enjoyed by younger ya readers.

Hope you all enjoyed my review! ❤️ I really enjoyed reading this one! Have you guys read Hot British Boyfriend? Let me know what you thought of it in the comments. Bye guys, happy reading! x
