Their mission: prove to the kingdom that Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin and his buddies at the Institution of Law Enforcement and Heroics aren’t the heroes everyone thinks they are. But as small acts of mischief escalate into a vicious battle, Lord Blackheart realizes that Nimona’s powers are as murky and mysterious as her past. And her unpredictable wild side might be more dangerous than he is willing to admit.

My thoughts:
Nimona is an amazing story full of action, adventure and friendship. I absolutely love the artwork in this book! 😍 The colour and design of the characters are so mesmerizing. I love the friendship that develops between Nimona and Lord Ballister Blackheart. He starts to care for and worry about her, even though she drives him insane with her impulsive nature.

Nimona is so badass and her shapeshifting abilities are so awesome! She can transform into a dragon 🐉 (among other things). She is so funny and has a slightly worrying obsession with murder. Lord Blackheart has to rein her in quite a lot.

Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin… what a name! Hahaha and that hair is fabulous. It’s longer than mine! 😂 This is my favourite quote:

Nimona just appears in Lord Blackheart’s supervillain underground hideout one day claiming to be sent by the agency to be his new sidekick, which he is not happy about. He doesn’t want some random kid hanging around.

After planning and executing a somewhat successful evil heist, which results in a laboratory explosion, Blackheart begins to warm to her. He tells her all about his past involving Goldenloin, and how they were best friends in training together. After a terrible accident at a jousting tournament, Goldenloin becomes his nemesis.

As they begin to plan a bank robbery, the Institution of Law Enforcement and Heroics is up to no good. Their director is working behind the scenes to capture Nimona and put an end to her. She tricks Goldenloin into carrying out her evil plans for her.

Though a series of action-packed and heartbreaking events, Nimona, Blackheart and Goldenloin take down the Institution of Law Enforcement and Heroics with a bang! This novel will make you laugh and it will make you cry. Nimona’s story is so heartbreaking but the friendship that develops between her and Blackheart is so sweet ❤
