*spolier warning*
Deja and Josiah are seasonal best friends. Every autumn, all through high school, they’ve worked together at the best pumpkin patch in the whole wide world. (Not many people know that the best pumpkin patch in the whole wide world is in Omaha, Nebraska, but it definitely is.) They say good-bye every Halloween, and they’re reunited every September 1. But this Halloween is different—Josiah and Deja are finally seniors, and this is their last season at the pumpkin patch. Their last shift together. Their last good-bye. Josiah’s ready to spend the whole night feeling melancholy about it. Deja isn’t ready to let him. She’s got a plan: What if—instead of moping and the usual slinging lima beans down at the Succotash Hut—they went out with a bang? They could see all the sights! Taste all the snacks! And Josiah could finally talk to that cute girl he’s been mooning over for three years . . . What if their last shift was an adventure?
My thoughts:
Pumpkinheads is a fun, cute, fluffy story that’s the perfect read for Halloween. I read it, and immediately had to read it again. The artwork by Faith Erin Hicks is so gorgeous. I’m obsessed with it 😍 Just look at this map! Wow!

I love the friendship between Deja and Josiah ❤ They are so cute together! Deja is such a good friend. She helps Josiah find Marcy (the girl he likes) so he can talk to her and tell her he’s fancied her for ages, even though it breaks Deja’s heart (because she secretly likes him). I was rooting for them the whole time and I’m so happy they end up together ❤
It’s their last night working at the pumpkin patch, where they’ve worked all through high school. Every Halloween they say goodbye to each other, reuniting the following September. But this year it’s different, they’re finally seniors and it’s their very last shift together.
Josiah isn’t ready to leave and is in low spirits, however, Deja has has other plans. She intends to spend the night having fun, finally experiencing the place they both spend so much time in, tasting all the food and hanging out in the s’mores pit.
They decide to make their last shift an adventure and attempt to set Josiah up with Marcy (also known as Fudge Shoppe Girl). Josiah has been infatuated with Marcy since he first saw her, but has never even talked to her.
Through a crazy series of events that includes a very angry escaped goat, the eventually track down Marcy just before closing, where Josiah realises she isn’t really the same person he’s built up in his head for so long. His conversation with Marcy makes him realize who he really cares about. Finally!! 😂
There’s so much yummy food and treats in this book, I got so hungry while reading it. I NEED to try that Pumpkin Bomb so bad 😂 Vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two slices of pumpkin pie… on a stick… and dipped in chocolate… Oh my god 😲😍

And that little kid who stole Deja’s caramel apple drove me insane! I was like: how could you?! OMG 😂
I would highly recommend adding Pumpkinheads your tbr you guys! You won’t be disappointed. I desperately need a sequel to this. Hope you all enjoyed my review! Have you read Pumpkinheads yet? Let me know what you all thought of it in the comments 😀 Bye guys, happy reading! xx
